COMMUNITY SAFETY
MARKHAM’S WINTER SNOW CLEARING OPERATIONS
With one snowfall already in November and more to come, always use caution and drive with care in winter weather. Snow, ice, and cold temperatures are a recipe for slippery road conditions. Drive slowly and leave extra space between vehicles. Please remember not to park on the street during a winter event as plows can’t easily move around parked cars. For information on Markham’s winter road services, including the Winter Maintenance App and safety tips, click below.

PLEASE DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE
Driving under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs is illegal — and deadly. Before you go out, plan a safe way home with a designated driver, public transit, or a ride share or taxi. For more information, click below.

PLEASE MONITOR YOUR SPEEDOMETER
To manage speeding on our streets, Markham uses speed display boards to improve driver behaviour. You’ll see speed display boards all over Markham to notify drivers if they are going too fast. For more information, click below.
