2025 MARKHAM-UNIONVILLE TERRY FOX RUN, SAT., SEPT. 14

The Terry Fox Run has a rich history in Markham-Unionville starting in 1982 with 100 participants. Over the years, the Markham Unionville participants have raised over $1.6 million dollars for the Marathon of Hope.  Last year alone, over $70,000 was raised and organizers hope to exceed that amount this year! YORK REGIONAL POLICE UPDATE– MAN SHOT IN MARKHAM

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are appealing for witnesses and searching for suspects after a man was shot outside his home in the City of Markham on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at approximately 5:20 p.m. in the area of McCowan Road and 14th Avenue. CONFIRMED MEASLES CASE IN YORK REGION

To date, there have been five (5) confirmed cases in York Region in 2025. To protect yourself against measles, ensure you have two doses of the measles vaccine. Those born after 1970, especially when travelling within Ontario, Canada or internationally, are encouraged to get vaccinated.
